Daniel 8:5-8

Daniel 8:5 – As I was thinking about this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn between his eyes came from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground.

The key words in this “Prophecy” are “West” and “Without Touching the Ground”. As I look at this I can say that yes Alexander the Great (Not form the M.E.) did fulfill most of Daniel 8, but this verse was not “Literally” fulfilled, and that is “Important”. So, has any nation ever fulfilled this verse “Literally”? Think hard, this is Important and has major ramifications on what follows. Well, looking back on history, No nation has fulfilled this verse; actually no nation has had the capability to “Literally” fulfill this verse, until just recently.

In 2003 the United Sates of America “Literally Fulfilled” this verse. If you read on you will also find that we “Literally” fulfill verse 7 that was not fulfilled by Alexander. Also, the Hebrew word in my Interlinear Bible for “Prominent” in verse 5 is translated “Literally” as “Conspicuous”.

Daniel 8:6-7 – He came toward the two-horned ram I had seen standing beside the canal and charged at him in great rage. I saw him attack the ram furiously, striking the ram and shattering his two horns. The ram was powerless to stand against him; the goat knocked him to the ground and trampled on him, and none could rescue the ram from his power.

8) The goat became very great, but at the height of his power his large horn was broken off, and in its place four prominent horns grew up toward the four winds of heaven.

We fulfilled verse 7 by attacking in 1991 and destroying one army, and then going back in 2003 and destroying the second army. This then leads to Daniel 8:8 in which the Nation that fulfilled the previous verses is “Destroyed” and four other Powers rise up. It is out of one of those nations that the One that “Desecrates” the rebuilt Temple will come.

Israel in the News

Isaiah 17:1 - An oracle concerning Damascus: "See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins.

LORD, you discipline your own first.

Deuteronomy 8:5 - Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.

Hebrews 12:8 - If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.

Isaiah 17:4-9 -

4 "In that day the glory of Jacob will fade; the fat of his body will waste away.

5 It will be as when a reaper gathers the standing grain and harvests the grain with his arm as when a man gleans heads of grain in the Valley of Rephaim.

6 Yet some gleanings will remain, as when an olive tree is beaten, leaving two or three olives on the topmost branches, four or five on the fruitful boughs," declares the LORD, the God of Israel.

7 In that day men will look to their Maker and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel.

8 They will not look to the altars, the work of their hands, and they will have no regard for the Asherah poles and the incense altars their fingers have made.

9 In that day their strong cities, which they left because of the Israelites, will be like places abandoned to thickets and undergrowth. And all will be desolation.

A day of disease and incurable pain is coming to Israel. Do not depend on other nations, do not depend on yourselves, but depend on the Great I AM!

Isaiah 17:11 - though on the day you set them out, you make them grow, and on the morning when you plant them, you bring them to bud, yet the harvest will be as nothing in the day of disease and incurable pain.

Just before the time of Ez 38-39 there is a time when Israel will turn from its secular ways and turn back to the LORD, ant it is clear that it is linked to the destruction of Damascus and WMD used against the major cities of Israel.

Isaiah 17:14 - In the evening, sudden terror! Before the morning, they are gone! This is the portion of those who loot us, the lot of those who plunder us.

The LORD has promised to protect Israel form total destruction and repay those that judge her. A time of peace will come after this, but it will be short lived, as the prophecies of Ez 38-39 must also come to pass.

As for America, how can such a great nation not come to Israel's defense?

This gives me great sorrow, and I grieve for the country of my birth, for she will be no more. In one day she will fall, and all of the merchants shall morn for they shall not trade with her anymore. They will stand far off and watch her burn, and the "Kings" of the earth will also morn.

Peter the Rock and the Church

Putting this in context, the most important verse is Mt 16:15 where Yeshua asks, "Who do you say that I am?"

--- Mt 16:15 - "He said to them, 'But who do you say that I am?'"

--- Mt 16:16 - "Simon Peter answered, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'"

After Peter responds we get another very important verse that makes it clear that only the Father can reveal who Yeshua is.

--- Mt 16:17 - "And Jesus said to him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.'"

And now we have the verse that has caused so much distention, and it is not that difficult. Looking at it in the "Original" Greek is very helpful by the way.
Petros - Noun Masculine "Stone"
Petra - Noun Feminine "Cliff, Mountain, Strata"

Yeshua calls Simon "Petros" which is a stone based on his testimony in Mt 16:16, and then states that upon this "Petra" (Many Rocks) I will build my church. So, looking at the original context and Greek writing you can then state that Yeshua stated that Simon's "Testimony" was a stone, and upon many "Testimonies" He would build His Church. Also, in equating the Church to Petra (Feminine) is correct because the Church is the Bride of Christ.

Now, is there a president for this in the Bible? A place of warship (Altar) was to be a pile of uncut stones. (Exodus 20:25, Joshua 8:31)

--- Mt 16:18 - "I also say to you that you are Peter (Petros), and upon this rock (Petra) I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it."

In case you have a daught about the use of equating the name Petros to the statement, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God", please read on to see what Yeshua equated the statement "God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You." So, is peter Satin?

--- Mt 16:22 - "Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, 'God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.'"

--- Mt 16:23 - "But He turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's.'"

The answer is no, peter is not Satin, but it does highlight that what one says effects your relationship with Christ.

--- Exodus 20:25 - "If you make an altar of stones for me, do not build it with dressed stones, for you will defile it if you use a tool on it."

--- Joshua 8:31 - "as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded the Israelites. He built it according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses—an altar of uncut stones, on which no iron tool had been used. On it they offered to the LORD burnt offerings and sacrificed fellowship offerings."

How close is close?

Ex 38:26 a beka a head (that is, half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary), for each one who passed over to those who were numbered, from twenty years old and upward

Ps 90:10 As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; For soon it is gone and we fly away.

Mt 24:34 "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

Declaration of Israel's Independence 14 May 1948.

De 24:5 "When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out with the army nor be charged with any duty; he shall be free at home one year and shall give happiness to his wife whom he has taken.

The bride must be with the Lord Jesus for at least one year before He starts breaking the seals. As stated, when the Church Age ends there will be a time when those that are left behind will think that peace has finally come.

Mt 10:34 "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

1Th 5:3 While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.

Rev 6:1 Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, "Come." I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

Rosh Hashanah literally translated as "Head of the Year", "The Day of Remembrance", and "The Day of Judgment"
12-14 September 2007

Lev 23:23, the Feast of Trumpets (zichron teruah). It is the next in line for fulfillment of the seven prophetic feasts, and is centered on the Blowing of the Shofar when the first light shines on the new moon. This is the beginning on the month of Tishri, but because it starts when the fist light is visible it is celebrated on two days, so no one can know the day or hour. Note the 14th of September is the start of the Sabbath.

For the Church it marks both the end of our Age and the Wedding Feast that is before the Day of the LORD. We will be called by the Shout of the angle and the Shofar call of G-d. As the first four Prophetic Feasts (Lev 23:4) were fulfilled on the days that YHWH proclaimed, the last three shall also be fulfilled on the days that He has chosen. It is interesting to note that it is the day that the resurrection is supposed to happen, and it is also the Day of Judgment.
